Damon Grant is a saxophonist, arranger, composer, recording engineer and educator. He is based in Eltham, Melbourne, Australia. 

 

Damon began his playing career in 1991 in his native New Zealand. He writes and performs music from a  broad range of genres and musical forms and has managed to maintain a healthy balance of the commercial and the creative throughout his career. Damon has worked in dozens of bands and orchestras, played on film and television soundtracks and theme music recordings, performed at clubs, bars and music and arts festivals and events all over the world and on radio and TV commercials and in musical theatre shows.

 

Alongside his performing career Damon has around 30 years experience at high school and tertiary level teaching saxophone, flute, theory, jazz improvisation and directing jazz combos and big bands.

 

Current projects include:

Damon is based at Red Iris Studios - a purpose built studio where he collaborates with other artists in creating, recording and teaching music.

Damon teaches improvisation and saxophone at Caulfield Grammar School.
